love is abundant…. and women grow it from scratch every day…

I know body standards and body image issues also exist for men. But look at the difference between the “ideal” man and the “ideal” woman. The “ideal” man is strong. He doesn’t take shit from anyone and has a chiseled jawline. He drinks whiskey and smokes cigars and is a real man’s man. The “ideal” man is an image of strength and self-sufficiency.
The “ideal” woman on the other hand? She is tiny and submissive. She somehow has DDD breasts and a thick ass, but a 28″ waist. She is there to be passively consumed and admired, and expected to keep her mouth shut when the men are talking because she isn’t supposed to be smarter than them. The “ideal” woman is an image of weakness and vulnerability and I think that’s much worse than feeling inadequate because your biceps aren’t big enough.
Someone said something like this on a post about male beauty standards and I think it cuts it short very well:
While men aren’t allowed to be weak, women aren’t allowed to be strong.
This is how male dominance is upheld.
male body standards emphasize strength and power over women, female body standards glorify how fuckable and maleable we are

I will always reblog things like this, it won’t ruin your blog or the look of it, and this could potentially save a life.
PLEASE reblog this.
